I finally finished addressing 150 envelopes and I sent them out yesterday.
Here's hoping no one thinks I'm a complete lunatic. But you know what, I don't really care. I am so thrilled about this opportunity that I can hardly see straight. I'm not going to let anyone's negativity take away from my excitement about this trip! I want it to be December 27th already!
I got a phone call this afternoon from a friend of my parents who has already received her letter. Her voicemail said:
"I'm calling to tell you that it was a real privilege to get your letter today. It makes me kind of teary because I'm just so excited for you and proud of you and it takes courage and guts to write a letter like you did. I admire you so much and I'm just so so happy to hear your wonderful news about finding Jesus and being on your journey that you're on now. I just want you to know how much I appreciated reading this and I loved reading it- I'm just so happy for you, I had to tell you. I know you are going great places because you have a wonderful Guide and Protector going ahead of you and I'm excited for your adventures to come."
I was so flattered and blown away by receiving a phone call like this less than 24 hours after mailing my letter. It really reinforced my reasoning behind doing this and gave me such strength to realize that a woman I don't really even know that well could support me so profoundly.
Our Lord is so amazing, y'all. It really brings tears to my eyes when I think about just how blessed I am. I am so grateful for this opportunity and every gift He has blessed me with.
Take some time to be grateful today.
