New Year, New Blog

Hey friends!

I wanted to revamp my blog a little bit since my life has gotten a bit of a revamping too! Welcome to Meet the McIntyres, a phrase I'm sure you're already sick of hearing. I'm happy to accept suggestions on blog titles, too! We want this blog to be a place we can share about our lives and our family. I'm so happy to share it with you- it has been on my mind & heart for quite some time and I'm glad it has come to fruition!

Right now we are TWO WEEKS out from wedding day and are starting to get a little overwhelmed. Brian is finishing up two seminary courses- Apologetics and Islam (quite the mix, huh?) online at Reformed Theological Seminary. He is LOVING his coursework, but it has been a challenge to be solely online. He is so looking forward to being in Charlotte with classmates, engaging with professors and other students. We are also praying to find a church to get plugged into in Charlotte- I have really been missing being heavily involved in a church community, both in bible studies and in giving back to the community. I'm a little under the weather right now and haven't been able to work as much as usual. This is not helping in the stress department!

Last weekend was my bachelorette party in Florida, and Brian leaves tomorrow for his bachelor party in Nashville. He doesn't even know who all will be there- it's a surprise! So fun. We are both lucky to have friends that take time out of their busy schedules to celebrate us.

Honestly, I think "busy" is both of our foremost emotion right now. There is just a ton going on all around us and a million little things to do to prepare. We are so looking forward to the big day, but if I'm being honest we're *really* looking forward to our honeymoon with 10 days of nothing to do except whatever we want! Having a long engagement has been good in some ways, but if I had it to do all over again, I think we'd have gotten married in August. (Not football season yet- heaven forbid!) We had most of the wedding planned in about five minutes, so I think it could've been done.

We are trying hard to savor these last two weeks as an engaged couple and have scheduled a spa day for next week when he gets back from Nashville! I think we could both use a big, cathartic exhale and some relaxation. We're also celebrating next Saturday with our friends Danielle and Turner to take our minds off what will be happening the Saturday after that! They have lived in Greenville much longer than us and are showing us all the fun stuff to do around here before we have to move.

We would really appreciate your prayers & good vibes over the next two weeks as we prepare to join our lives together in the eyes of God and our friends and family. No pressure, right?! 😜😉

Signing off- trying to keep this one short & sweet! SO glad you're here.

XO,

AK (not for long!)

Next time we're on this dock we'll be MARRIED!
